Adventures of Cooking...

Well, it has been one heck of a day. After a hard day's work, I decided that I would actually cook a homemade meal for dinner. My brother and I thought it would be fun to have dinner together and share in this most uplifting experiences...cooking our first meals in the new apartment. The other night we went shopping at Costco and bought a bunch of groceries, so we felt we were prepared. Anyways, I started cooking some rice, and my brother was going to bring over some chicken. He calls me and tells me to set the oven to 400 degrees. After a few minutes, I could smell something funny, but thought nothing of it, that it could possibly be just the new oven smell? Boy was I wrong! I posted earlier of those Cort guys who put away all of the dishes and things? Well, they didn't tell me that they put some of the pans in the oven. There was a cookie sheet with a plastic advertisement on it, which melted to the pan and now is impossible to get off...ugh....one pan pretty much ruined... :(

Anyways, dinner ended up looking like this:

Looks nice, doesn't it? Everything was fine, until we realized that we had no salt, pepper, ketchup, butter, or seasonings of any kind. Aack! But other than that, dinner was great!

Apartment Furniture continued..

Well, as you can probably tell, I am new to this blogging thing, and I hope that this looks somewhat passable for your entertainment. As with the first post, I started with just explaing the bed, in little phrases. After posting that, I amused the idea of having a 12-part series describing every piece of furniture I own now, but realized that it was too silly. Way too silly. Must be serious. Blogging is not a laughing matter. Anyways, I got my furniture through Cort Furniture, which is a rental place, with the option to own after 15 months. I got the house package (bed, dresser, couch, chair, dining table, chairs..etc) and the housewares package which includes dishes, cooking utensils, bathroom stuff. When delivered, the Cort guys come in and actually set everything up, put your dishes away, set up the dining table. That explains why it looks so good in the pictures. I can promise that it won't look like that for long, but I will try.

New Apartment...New Furniture...New Beginning

This is my new bed. Amazing. Queen size. Hard as a rock. Uncomfortable. Need foam mattress cover. Need it soon. Need it now. Must get. Looks nice. Looks are deceiving. Nice colors. As good as it looks, I did not make this bed. Matching nightstand. Pretty lamp. With digital clock. Time is wrong. Clock blinking. Clock confused. Need setting. Need more furniture in room.
